I carry less at the weekend

That's what saddlebags and rackpacks were invented for. I dislike having anything more than I have to in my back pockets, so almost always use some kind of bag. The additional weight is negligible (half a water bottle).

1. As long as it doesn't rain, you'll be fine without a raincape. If it does, you'll get wet.

2. Wear your spare top - and leave at home the one you were wearing before putting the spare on. It will stay clean for the next time you don't wear it.

raincape fits into a pocket easily. depends what you have...

I went out and bought an Endura Packlite yesterday...........and yes-it fits in the back pocket
