Get well soon, what a horrible thing to happen. It is good that the driver is contrite, perhaps she will be more careful in future and perhaps her friends will also be more careful too if she explains how she caused so much pain by a moment's impatience.

Nice new bike in time for that holiday next year, perhaps ?

Sorry to hear about this accident, really hope your Mrs feels better soon! I hit the back of a hgv last week, 2 xrays on shoulder and neck and carried away in spinal board etc, that thing is not comfortable at all! Although it was my fault I'm also very lucky it wasn't worse. 8 days on and I'm still in pain, nothing broken just bruising
