All weathers for me... though I think there should be a rule for our cycle parking facilities that if you haven't cycled all winter you have to use the crap wheelbender stands and leave the good one for the committed types...

I like the idea. a kind of loyalty points scheme for us committed cyclists. You have to swipe your nectar card and earn points to access the best bike racks. Cycling between November to Feb earns double points.

I Like that idea.

I did stay under the duvet this morning, although having ridden home from work at 04.00 through gales and torrential rain in East London after my night shift, i think i deserve it . I did get up at 13.00 though and cycled into work at 15.30 with a damn headwind, with the occasional crosswind gust. whats the betting the wind direction turns for the way home at 4am on April fools day !!

I was looking pretty bleak when I opened the curtains this morning, nearly didn't cycle...then I though of this thread and changed my mind!

Well done, as aembleton said hopefully you will get the rewards on the way home. Last night with a tail wind my average speed was 1mph fasted than usual.

Go on admit it, did you stay under the duvet this morning?

A bit of wind and light dizzell this morning and it seemed that about 50% of the fair weather cyclists failed to get out of bed.

I just can't do that, my mind set has to be to aim to commute in all weather. If I start picking and choosing which days to cycle in I would be a slipperly slope and would soon find different excuses every day and would never cycle in.

Is anyone else like this?

I'm there in all weathers! Riding in biting winds with rain lashing on my face is still 5 times better than having to face the tubes!
Even with all of the ignorant drivers, getting out at Liverpool street and onto the road away from the crowds is bliss.
