+1 Cracking spuds. Not only roasted - chip them, parboil for 5 mins, drain, spray with olive oil and bake for 30 mins. Mmmmmmmm...healthy chips

I'd go for King Edwards, but the secret is that they ought not to be fresh - if they are about a week old, they roast better.
