unbelievable comfortable

My Brommie saddle is slowly becoming an item to be replaced, at least in the medium term. This is probably due to my anatomy more than any fault of the saddle, as I'm not terribly well padded in this area.

A M6L has just popped up for sale reasonably locally. Allegedly 2021 and only been ridden 8 miles. The photos seem to support that. It's £1000.

It will be Thursday before I can get there, so it may be gone. Good to know they are out there.

Notice the differences and similarities. That red bit is the elastomer suspension. Whilst the rear fold is a actuated by the handlebar trigger lever, the unbalanced fold gives a leftwards lean on the trolley wheels. You also get what feel to be elastomer pads on the grips.
Oyama became a Taiwanese folding specialist sometime in the 1980 and have accumulated over 100 patents.

Trifolding is, of course a necessity for compactness, but by doing so, easily lends itself to adding suspension.
I have not ridden Bromptons so will not argue which is the best.

I find the Brompton saddle pretty comfortable...as long as it's not on a Brompton!
I've got one on my fixed, and another on my Ribble road bike, but I need a slightly wider saddle on the Brommie for reasons.

I know some brands and drive trains apply to original owner only.

Surprises me a little if I'm honest; a grand for an M6L seem like the mid-upper-end of what I'd expect to pay (factoring in "oh noes it's the old naming convention" and assuming it's a basic powder coat rather than one of the more tarty finishes).

That said it seems that 80% of Bromptons for sale are in the centre of hell so constrained supply outside the capital might be keeping prices "bouyant".

You can stuff the frame number / serial up the Brompton website to register the warranty. In my case the previous owner hadn't already registered the bike and I had no issue claiming the warranty rights some 12-18 months after the bike was initially purchased.

Obviously if the warranty's already been registered it would be a different matter; assuming they're non-transferrible as most are. I'm not sure exactly what's covered under the warranty - I suspect it's the usual "wear and tear" blag; so essentially the frame and a few other bits. The frame has an extended warranty but I can't remember what (maybe five or ten years..?).

Right, I listened to all your wisdom, went and looked, tested. Put a B. in my online basket, entered card details but couldn't quite make the click.

Asked Ms AU's advice. She asked the two critical questions; do you want a B? Do you need a B?

Then she asked the killer - what bike would you really like? That was easy, and it isn't a folding bike.

So sincere thanks for your help. I'll be flying to meet my son in October and then starting a new light touring bicycle project that enthuses me! Probably buy a £150 used folder too.
