I have fallen back in love with quirky switches.

We were never close having only seen each other a few times over 15 years or so.
Which is why apparently, washing machines STILL have a turn dial rather than micro switch buttons or a touch screen to set the programme.
The manufacturers claim that it's what the great British public expect.
Anyone remember the Hoover Keymatic - ? So way ahead of it's time in the 60s. ^_^

This is totally out of order,EV or ICE, removing features from a car, to grift a few more quid out of the owner, so buttons and not connected to anything seems to be the way to go

Happens all the time with TVs and related "set top boxes". After a few years apps which were splattered all over the packaging as being a feature get deleted or stop working.
Often the issue with those is new coding which is incompatible with the TV/box in question. It being upto the manufacturer to issue new firmware but often they do not.

A number of years ago I bought a one year old car that, when sold new, included three years of free updates for the satnav maps. A year into my ownership they stopped producing maps it full stop. I took it up with the manufacturer, I’m well known within the family for being persistent, and they finally offered me a financial settlement and a “complimentary“ upgrade to their new satnav system.

The Nissan app was shockingly bad. It relied on 2g connection, 99% of the time never communicated with the car.

We like so many others complained, but we deleted it, never bothered with it again

Ordered this. Canny wait 2 months. The Frontera deals were coming in at £140 month. 8 month waiting list, no wonder they’re so popular. Would not being on a smart meter be a disadvantage though?

I used it every night on my Leaf to check the battery level to see how much I needed to charge it. I miss that now.
It was brilliant for setting the timer to warm the car and deice the screen in winter too - that always worked perfectly. Perhaps 2G isn't great in your area ?

If you're not on a smart meter - I don't think you can get an EV tariff ? They need to be able to track when you're using the electricity.
How many miles a week do you do ?
Lovely car btw - I'm jealous !

It’s saying signal but it’s a faulty box.
The reno has a 5 on the bonnet which is a cluster of LED’s to say what charge there is without going in the car.

It’s comfort techno pack 2026. Wondering what diamond cut alloys will be on as online there’s a few variants.

We’ve not yet shifted onto an EV tariff. As we are charging fairly infrequently my calculations suggest it would not make a big difference. The savings overnight would be offset by the higher daytime rate. For those doing lots of miles, commuting or with more than one vehicle it’s a no brainer. I’ll see how it goes over the next month.

I'm staying on granny and my fixed rate 24-7 tariff. The new car won't mean more miles overall, and we can certainly charge both EVs that way. The maths doesn't work for an EV tariff (or an E7 either) - besides, Mrs BF likes to be able to just switch whatever she wants on, when she wants to!
