They are. VW created it as an arms length brand name for the bulk of SEAT electric cars so the main brand wouldnt be tainted if they misjudged the market, but it turned out they had it bang on and its significantly outgrown SEAT for sales.

Yes, its VW Groip architecture and components. The problem js they now have too many in house brandsmck,peting innthe same market and that doesnt end wellmof left like that, as BL nicely demonstrated.

Yes, Cupra were originally a model of SEAT, but then were split off to form a separate brand.
They are all part of the VW (VAG) group - which includes car brands VW, Seat, Cupra, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley. It also includes some commercial vehicle brands and Ducati motorcycles.
And often multiple brands within that will have models based on the same platform. Mine, for instance, is the Skoda Enyaq, which is built on the MEB platform that also has the VW ID.4, Audi Q4, Cupra Taviscan - and outside the group (on license) the Ford Explorer/Capri.
Seat does not have any pure electric cars in the lineup, which is probably part of the reason they are getting rid of it, the group as a whole seem to be pushing pretty strongly down the EV route.

VW Group AG, or VW AG.
VAG, Volkswagen-Audi Group, were the old UK importer, completely separate from VW the manufacturer. They were owned by Lohnro, and ceased trading 1993 when Volkswagen formed VW UK and finally brought the import set up fully in-house.
In the UK the VAG name stuck and is generically, if incorrectly, used to refer to the manufacturer.
