if the numbers don't work vs a non-EV then it may be worth looking at a second hand / ex demonstrator?

I bought mine as an 11 month old and saved a lot vs new - even more than the equivalent tax benefit I could have gained.

I sometimes buy the M&S blackcurrant preserve rather than the one from Aldi...My profligacy knows no bounds.
I'm a gooseberry lover.

I wouldn't get an EV. Astra-Zeneca are working with farmers to roll out methane power now - this sort of industrial growth I like.
Not for cars they aren't, nor are they likely to.

Most petrol engines can have a fairly simple methane injection into the air intake. It's a win-win-win. Methane is here anyway, and a clean burn is better than leaving it in the atmosphere.

Getting it into places where it can readily be put into cars, which require heavy, thick walled tanks to hold the required pressure is a major issue. It suffers from all the same issues as LPG does for cars, apart from the source being renewable.

No need for dirty, short-life battery manufacture. New lease of life for existing cars.

There aren't any "dirty short-life batteries" being produced.

I've threatened that the next house car will be a Fiat Topolino, a really it will get a used Citroen Ami which looks a lot like it and currently about half the price.
Will we find the downgrade in performance from a breathed on VW UP Gti a disappointment.

DS4 Crossback doesn't have the load space of my Renault Zoe. I'm not upgrading to a smaller boot.
Boot size for my e Vitara isn’t generous, and smaller than my previous car, but I rarely get close to filling my boot in normal usage.

Only issue for me was the mountain bikes, they were a real struggle to fit into the old car, and certainly don’t fit in my new one. Knowing that to be a potential issue I got the dealer to throw in a detachable tow bar into the deal and purchased a pre owned Thule tow bar bike rack. Works a treat for those occasions we take the bikes somewhere.
