Hi folks

As you know, I’ve decided on a Bianchi Allroad bike:

https://www.evanscycles.com/bianchi-via-nirone-allroad-tiagra-2019-gravel-bike-EV360269

I’m planning to use this bike as an all purpose, bad weather, multiday trip bike. I’m going to put mudguards and panniers on the bike. The bike shop I’m purchasing the bike from has suggested SKS P45 mudguards and a Tortec disc specific rack. What I wanted to ask was: would these mudguards and rack be easy enough to remove for whenever I wanted to use the bike without them? Or are there other alternative mudguards I could use (for example, the ones that sort of strap onto the forks with the rubber clips)

I’m also going to fit 35 Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres onto the bike (I know these a bit heavier but they are bombproof!).

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd go for proper full length mudguards as suggested by your lbs. My experiences with the clip on variety have generally been poor in the long run. Once they're all adjusted they can be removed in less than half an hour and refitted in about the same, if you're only doing it a few times a year it's no problem. The reliability of having something robust thatbisnt going to fold into your wheel or rub is well worth it in my opinion. Same goes for the rack, although you can get some rather good seatpost mounted options these days - I think Topeak MTX stuff may be worth looking at but I've no experience of it personally. I would get a normal tortec rack

Good choice. I'm with @JhnBssll on the mudguards. Clip-ons are crap.

Are you camping? If not then panniers might not even be necessary. I like to pack light, and reduce weight and bulk by using these on my multi-day tours -

Did you buy the bike at a supermarket? I hope those barcode stickers don't mark the frame when you peel them off :okay:
