Monolake, the mighty Occam. Whoever says electronic music has no soul just doesn't understand.
+1

Kraftwerk's Ohm Sweet Ohm has done it for me on occasions. I don't know why, it just has.

If listening to it made you cry for god's sake don't look up the lyrics...you won't stop for hours.

He's a bit of a genius is Sufjan Stevens...

Colin Blunstone, vastly underated.
These two tracks were looping on my MP 4 headphones while I watched the chap in the hospital bed opposite mine die of stomach cancer whilst his family pleaded with the consultant to help him.
I will never, ever, forget the dignified behaviour of his sons who only allowed their anguish and grief to show when their sister arrived to openly mourn her fathers death.

Sad story, but a beautifully sad song.

Ommadawn by Mike Oldfield is a powerful piece- I saw him perform it live and it blew me away.

Another vote for Kraftwerk- practically all their stuff really gets me, if I am in the right mood.

Carl Orff's Carmina Burana kicks a*** too. We all know the Old Spice ad, but the whole piece is really worth listening to. A lot of the songs are about sex and drinking, not necessarily in that order...
