We had the Quickstep team catch us at the top of a col in Spain during their winter training. Mark Cavendish was not with them as he was sick. Team car and manager turned up first. Chatted a few mins before they headed off ahead of us.

I was out on a "Fast training ride" with my club 3 or 4 years ago, hooning along in a big bunch at 23/24mph, when we were passed first by a small moped, and then by Mark Cavendish. He was sitting up, one hand on the crossbars, and gave us a cheery wave and "hello lads". He's often seen in this neck of the woods, and frequents the Blue Egg cafe.
So yeah, he passed us rather than t'other way around.

Where did you come across him? I know a lot of the pros are based around the Newport area at various times of the year. Hope he does well next year at WT level.

I don't know if this counts but have cycled on occasion with Peter Kennaugh, Alex Dowsett, Luke Rowe and Connor Dunne but I kinda cheated because all were members of my cycling club Glendene before they were pro's. Often see Alex dowsett training and raced against him ( TLI race) a couple of times he has been with Mark Cavendish and as @MikeG mentioned, both in the Blue Egg cafe. Also cycled a fair amount with ex pro Bob Downs. Cycled a few miles with Hannah Barnes before she turned pro when she was friends with my daughter.
