Which pros have you passed on the road?

1992 on a god forsaken February afternoon on the east side of Holme Moss.A bloke in black flashed past me like i was stood still, still managed a 'dig deep lad'. It was Chris Boardman.

I don't know if this counts but have cycled on occasion with Peter Kennaugh, Alex Dowsett, Luke Rowe and Connor Dunne

Connor was a member of the club I was in for a while too, used to do the evening 10 most weeks.

Only pro I remember at the evening 10 was Gordon McAuley. He once did a 20.01, it's a tough course. The sort of club rider who is capable of a 20-minute time on a fast course would be doing a long 21 on that one.

I think I had a go at making the tea that night. Can't remember if I marshalled or pushed off.

I decided to go easy on Joseba Beloki on Sunday. I thought it would have been bad form to take him on the line.

I let Lucy Garner pass me,does that count. I also passed Paula Radcliffe when I was out running.I was going in the opposite direction.

Loads, living South of Manchester on the edge of the Pennines you get a lot of pros training in the area. I see Stannard, Andy Tennant and Adam Blythe pretty regularly, they all live within a mile or so. You also see a lot of the GB riders both out on the Cheshire Plain and in the hills. Can be a bit intimidating rocking up at the local 10 to find you are the minute man for a current pro.

My DIL used to beat me in most cross races, she was also a pro cyclist for a while although not at the time she was beating me.

There's quite a few Pros standing on the corners when I go back to Luton. They always seem very friendly

Where did you come across him? I know a lot of the pros are based around the Newport area at various times of the year. Hope he does well next year at WT level.

I don't know if this counts but have cycled on occasion with Peter Kennaugh, Alex Dowsett, Luke Rowe and Connor Dunne but I kinda cheated because all were members of my cycling club Glendene before they were pro's. Often see Alex dowsett training and raced against him ( TLI race) a couple of times he has been with Mark Cavendish and as @MikeG mentioned, both in the Blue Egg cafe. Also cycled a fair amount with ex pro Bob Downs. Cycled a few miles with Hannah Barnes before she turned pro when she was friends with my daughter.

That definitely counts, that's a pretty good list of pros to have cycle with!

That doesn't count, although it would have if Jeremy have overtaken you on his road bike. We all know he loves cycling and is often to be seen on the local club run.
