White poppies are usually worn by people trying to make a point where as the red poppy is worn out of respect for the men and woman who died fighting for their country.
I would say if you want to wear a white poppy why not wear the red one next to it and you can make your point and show some respect at the same time.
hmm...as i understand it the wearing the white poppy means you disagree with war but still have respect for those who fough so why would you wear a red one with it

Why not?
Wearing a red poppy does not mean you agree with war so I don't understand the need for the white poppy other than to make a point.

I prefer to wear no poppy at all. Definitely wouldn't wear a red one and to wear a white one might provoke a bad reaction from some.

I do feel uncomfortable watching TV at this time of year. Practically 100% of people wear red poppies whereas the take-up of them by the public is nothing like 100%. Poppy mafia pressuring folk to wear them

As far as I understand the white poppy is a symbol of peace and has nothing to do with remembrance .

I wear a red poppy. But absolutely refuse to wear one before Nov 1st, which I still think is too early.

Speaking as an ex soldier, I can assure it is a good thing Armies cannot start wars. Most of colleagues (and a younger me) had a mental list of enemies that needing sorting out! France still featured high on the list.

.. and they died to preserve the way of life that enables lefto pinkies to wear a white poppy. There's either irony or hypocrisy there.

I have not bought a red poppy in years, I feel no need to wear a piece of carboard and plastic just to 'remember'. What's more, I feel uncomfortable with almost everyone on the telly wearing poppies as if its the law!

I do have a couple of white poppies I bought online. I might wear one of them just to annoy people

Would that be the one-and-only Lefto Pinky, world-renowned prestidigitator?
Nope there are hundreds in these parts... although as they are slightly more acceptable (to me) than purple poppy wearers, which seems to be the new point making fad poppy

You could get a trendy wrist-band instead, you know! I saw them when I bought my poppy off the old boy. I was almost tempted!
