Also met Ian Paisley a few times. Quite a funny man when he wasn't shouting at people

I had forgotten but I "met" Ian Paisley at Belfast International Airport when I was about 5. He was picking a huge suitcase up from a trolley and swung it round and hit me accidentally and knocked me over while I was walking past with with my mum. I was bawling my head off out but he was very apologetic and gave me a pound, which seemed a fortune to me at the time.

My mum told me off for referring to him as the man that shouts on the TV:smile:

Whereas nowadays, he'd have personal injury claim lawyers chasing after him

Tommy Sheridan didn't shout when I met him either by the way. No, he just asked me tersely if I was from The News Of The World because I had a camera, and then proceeded to walk off.
I met Fergie back in the late 80's just at the time the media was starting to take a pop at her for just about everything - she was fantastic, funny, flirty, really good looking, beautiful shape (not remotely fat). Made a huge fuss of my dog, probably spent 10 minutes just playing with the dog. She was the entire opposite of how the media portrayed her.
I love her all work, pretty impressed with Will.i.am too ;)

I'd forgotten about the time I was working in the Snooker Club in Aberystwyth.

One afternoon (probably in 1992) a rowdy bunch of blokes wandered in and wanted to play snooker. I established that none of them were members and so insisted that they calm down, form an orderly queue, sign in and pay their £1 each day-membership which they duly did. A dozen or so signatures procured, 12 quid in the till and 6 sets of snooker balls dispensed I relaxed back into the slumber of a snooker club barman when my boss walked in.

Now, I know nothing about sports, but apparently they were all footballers from somewhere called Chelsea.

Anyhow, my boss went to the toy shop and came back with every plastic football they had which the Chelsea fellas all signed subsequently to be auctioned for local charities.

Just recalled...years ago (about 15 years ago) I met Steve Stroud who was and possibly still is, cliff Richards bass player, he was marrying Cheryl Baker (Rita Cruddington...what a great name, why did she ever change it!) and as I sat in his living room, who should enter dressed in a bathrobe, fluffy slippers and legs up to her armpits than a very lovely Rita. She was a cracker back in those days (probably still is)

I adored the pair of them and later went on to meet Rita/ Chezza in her childhood house over in Rennets wood, Eltham (Birth place of Bob Hope...yes... THE Bob Hope).

dont know why I forgot them they were such a smashing couple. Must google them to see if they are still together, I hope so.

Being in the music biz all my working life I have met far too many to mention. So here's a few.
Kurt Cobain.
Spent a couple hours in his company in the Astoria green room. Lovely lovely bloke. Loved making and playing music for people. That's all he ever wanted to do.
Lee Perry.
Worked with him for a few years. He likes to potray that he's some sort of mystic shaman know it all. He's not, it's all a charade, a front. A sharp as knife but an idiot with it.
Mark E Smith.
Like all addicts, one minute he's nice as pie, the next he's a complete nightmare. More nightmare then nice. Had to spend a weekend with him in Paris doing promotion work. In the end I could take no more of his boorish, rude behaviour so left him to fend for himself. His wife at the time Brix Smith couldn't have been more lovlier, what the hell she saw in him I never know.
John Peel.
Nice unassuming bloke, very easy to talk to, always had a lot of interesting things to say and had time for anyone who wanted to talk to him. One of those people who had a natural aura about him.
Jaz Coleman and Raven of Killing Joke.
Jaz is a complete wacko. A nice guy but what you see is what you get. No airs and graces about him. Has a lot to say. most of it completely bonkers. Raven, lovely bloke. Liked nothing more then sitting in my office (with his dog) having a natter and a cup of tea.
Ron Wood. Still do bit's of work for him. Nice down to earth bloke. Pity all his sycophants, mindes and hangers on are all dickheads.
Sharon Osbourne.
Very smart lady. Fun, funny and friendly with it. Showed everyone in our office her 'new tits' when she had them done.
Jah Wobble.
A good friend even though he is Spurs season ticket holder. This man never stops working making music. Has got a lot to say and can bend ones ear for a couple of hours easy on the telephone. Doesn't suffer fools gladly. He hates John Lydon.
Tinie Tempah.
Another good friend and love him to bits. We worked with him before he hit the big time. He bought me a bottle of JD for Christmas pressie last year.(though I did say to him, that with his amount of dosh he's getting I was expecting a crate).
Steve Cropper and Matt Murphy of Booker T & The MG's/Blues Brothers Band.
Shared a dinner table with these guys at an industry shindig. They had some hilarious stories. I was in total awe as was everyone.
Snowy White
ex Thin Lizzy/Solo/Roger Waters Band.
What a lovely down to earth chap. We handle his current solo material. Dislikes talking about his Thin Lizzy period, which is a shame and he's suprised when anyone says they like it. (Chinatown is my fave album). Last year I went to see the Wall concert in Hamburg. Not only did he get us a couple of the best seats in the house, we also had all access passes and he gave us a personal tour of the stage & backstage. Then invited us to the bands aftershow party. (but we were not allowed to talk to Roger Waters).

Alex Salmond.....decent guy, even if you don't agree with his political views. Very pleasant, and a wicked sense of humour.
Brian Cox.....not long off a flight from Moscow. Was a bit jet-lagged, but good guy. Stopped and chatted for a while, even though he was knackered.
Jack Vetraino.....twice....totally down-to-earth bloke, a really nice guy, and unpretentious....born a Fifer, still every bit a Fifer, despite his obvious wealth and success.
Michael Barrymore.....before the scandal. Met him and his wife at Wimbledon, shortly before they separated. A fine lad, but looking back, even then he seemed troubled.

Nearly met Halle Berry at a party in Vancouver, but at the last minute she was called away for some night-filming.......doh!!!!

It's a bit more complicated than that...

Yes, I was thinking the same.

I saw Stephen Fry in the OUP bookshop in Oxford. He's tall. And Stephen Hawking in Blackwell's music shop in Oxford. He's not.

Everyone famous I've ever seen has been called Stephen.

I took Harrison Ford to the Hand in Hand pub in the Elephant and Castle when the second Star Wars film was being made. And he was a grumpy ****, even then
