Just thinking about the Police, Nurses & ambalance staff and all other public sector workers. They don't get a Christmas bonus or massive pay awards. H a great one!

mrs alec works in social care. she's off this xmas, but on new year's eve (a tough break for a scot). pretty much one in two xmases ends up with her working on the day itself.

I spent most of 10 years working most of xmas and NY's feeding people that had it off. But I got fed up with not seeing any of my friends (out side work) but this year I just wished I knew when I was going back to work!

I'll be working Christmas eve and Chistmas day as a night porter of an empty hotel as there are no guests booked in but I still have to be there just incase anybody is looking for a room in the middle of the night, (there is plenty room at the inn)
It is a big old hotel with lots of noises through the night, The film "The Shinning" keeps comming to mind
