It is art and you have to be middle classed or above to get it.I certainly do not, clever yes but not very pleasing to my eye.
steering would have to all be through linkages down to a steering arm going to a stub axle like thing on the front wheel
or through a series of sensors and servos and down to a stepper motor or similar controlling a steering arm going to a stub axle like thing on the front wheel

don't think they HAVE TO be straight to work but it's just on most vehicles there is no need for them to be bentApparently it's a long steering rod. You clearly know more about mechanics than I do; I thought steering rods had to be straight?
