I

Also if they are real I bet she'd take them with her if we ever get organised and throw her out. She'd likely go and Queen in some commonwealth country I reckon.

She has said that if she ever retired it would be to the Trough of Bowland.

Really? Does she own a cottage there or something?

in the Sarah Bradford biography,

and she had her first (only?) pub lunch at the Inn at Whitewell in 2006

Actually, she can't. Unlike other European monarchs, the Queen can't abdicate. When her uncle did, it took a specific Act of Parliament to enable him to step aside.

It's a widely held assumption that the Queen could 'step aside' for Prince Charles, the only speculation being that she doesn't want to, certainly while the Duke is still reasonably well.

This article, among other things, contains a reference to a promise she made in 1947 that her whole life, whether long or short, would be dedicated to being Queen.

Are they the property of Mrs Windsor or are they property of the state or what?

If nobody knows, can I have them? I like a bit of bling.
I own them. I bought them off e-bay a couple of months ago. I'm surprised you weren't aware. Do you want to buy them? Much cheapness.

Would she be up to the paintless dent repair business?

I doubt it at this time of her life, but she did at one time know how to fix other parts of a vehicle.

I did not realise you are a tea boy, for some reason I had you down for something more manual. Still doing non answers I see.

I know for sure I would not like her job.
I'm sure she works hard and all that but I could work just as hard with people to cater for everything else and the sting of work would really be reduced by having all that land and cash. So on balance I don't think I'd turn it down if it was offered.
Then there are all the other members of the royal family and aristocracy. Not all of them put in a full day at the office you know.

True, she has a way of life.

Being Queen has its compensations no doubt, but her life has never been her own which is a very high price to pay.
She doesn't bloody well have to do it so I have no sympathy whatsoever. Most people who are in a position the cannot bear would change it if they could. I doubt that she hates it that much.

Sweeping opinion upon which we will never agree.

I am in favour of the monarchy, and very strongly in favour of the queen, who has never put a foot wrong in all the years she's been doing it.

Very few achieve such consistent excellence in a job.
How do you know she has't made a mistake? Just none we have heard of and I suppose that's enough is it. I absolutely and utterly resent the fact that she is the head of a class of people who are deemed better than the rest of us. I resent being subject to anybody and would rather be a citizen. It is all kinds of wrong in my opinion and has no place whatsoever in a modern democracy.
