No early retirement, either.

Which is extremely unusual for a civil servant, never personally known one yet go through to 65, however I am sure some do.

Here you go, once you have stopped cracking one off to her maj, you can read this thread:

Well it least her Maj's "job" isn't the only one that @screenman has been talking up...

Marketing director.
Sales Director
Project manager
Accountant.
Credit control supervisor.
PDR technician
PDR trainer
WSR technician
WSR trainer.
UK distributor for an American tools company.
Tool manufacturer ( well I put an assortment together to do a certain job)
And a few more.
Can you tell I work for myself and that no two days are the same.

No privacy, long hours, lots of horrible traveling, lots of meeting and greeting, being the top target in the universe, I can see a lot more in the position that you seem to be able to.

What do you do for a living? not that people normally answer this question.
I'm a bike mechanic. Is that relevant? I'm not saying that Mrs Windsor's job isn't without it's trials, I'm just saying there are much, much, much worse jobs to have. I'm also saying she could just stop doing it if she really hated it, unlike most other people who hate their jobs. Perhaps if she wasn't the queen she wouldn't be such a target so forgive me if in the background you can hear the tiniest violin in the world playing just for her and her awful predicament.
I notice you didn't answer any of the points I actually made.

Likewise, if you did not enjoy being a bike mechanic you could stop straight away, however I am sure your sense of duty to your customers keeps you turning up each day.

Maybe she down not hate all of it, but I bet there are times when it is a strain, both mentally and physically.

I doubt it.
Nominate me. I would absolutely love to go to the garden party and start a bun fight.

The point is if I wanted to stop (which I don't) I would suffer for it as would anyone who has to work for a living. Being a bike mechanic is about the best job I could get at the moment so any decision to leave would have a detremental effect on my life. In fact most people are in the best job they can get at any given time so the choice you present is not an equal one. If things are as grim for Mrs Windsor as you make out then giving up her job would be a blessing, surely.

So if one day she says that enough is enough and she is refusing to come out, what happens?
Bugger all happens. We just get a different face on our money. Far better if she or some one were to just dissolve the Monarchy and put an end to this patronising system.

No she can't. Contrary to popular misconception, the British monarch cannot simply abdicate as s/he wishes...
I don't know the technicalities of it so I will take your word for it. However if she suddenly decided she wasn't going to get out of bed nobody's going to make her are they. Also I feel sure there must be some way she can officially stop working. And as I say she could simply decide not to play anymore.
