I was a bit too old for the Mexico, Ì was 17 in 1982 and the Escort was already looking very long in the tooth, Golf GTi’s were my thing, I’ve owned 16 Golf’s over the years.

Next up ROW545M a rare one as factory finished in Purple Velvet (ie 1300e colour) around 1984 as it's pictured on the driveway at Verwood also got shown at classic car show in Bristol . A one previous owner from new car who's previous owner had used it for towing a caravan hence the wing mirrors and tow bar.

Next up is another one but this one was a bit more tuned for road rally's and I am driving around 1984 as I owned it at same time as the purple one.

I think the only Ford we have had was an XR2 that we got as our second car. It was a lease car through the NHS and the insurance was included in the package which was just as well as I’d past my test less than a year before.

I had a 2.5 manual Ghia X estate in a pinky red.

it was my first car after many years of having a company car. My last company car had been a 2.0 Ghia Granada, incredibly sluggish but comfortable.

Great car, always wanted one, not sure about 0-60 in 3 seconds though.....

Was that the full blown rally version perhaps ?
Friend of ours back around 1976 had a rally prepped Ford Anglia, bought it off a garage that used to compete privately. I dont know what its stats were but it was blisteringly quick for its day. Perhaps not in Mexico spheres but....

So do I! And a lot of others!

I was going to add, the back bumper has ripped off, but you can get replacement 3D printed ones off ebay. My Christmas Break project is going to be refurbing some of the old cars. I have two old JPS cars - motors are shot and will need replacing, but you can get replacement logos for them too. Probably time to learn soldering !
