Is this just a poor attempt to resurrect the Tooting left hook discussion with an imaginatively created scenario, or has this 'incident' been witnessed and is the issue of fault (and presumably liability) being debated?

I only ask because, while I am sure such things do happen, this sounds a bit too much like a hypothetical situation with a perfect mix of complications and conundrums to be true.

IMO it was Colonel Mustard in the library with the spanner.....
Witnessed in the town centre, two weeks ago tomorrow.

Bikes being ridden through the same junction against the flow of traffic is too common. As is drivers ignoring the "No Motor Vehicles", except Buses & Taxis sign, to take a short cut.

If this really did happen the person at fault is the cyclist.
The pedestrian is not to blame even if looking at their phone.
If the car was being driven within the law, other than not being a permitted vehicle then they are not at fault either. Just because they weren’t supposed to be there doesnt really matter. They were there to be seen, so should be seen and avoided. What if the car was a taxi? They wouldn’t be at fault then.
The cyclist was not in control of their bike, pulling a wheelie going the wrong way through a pedestrian crossing.

Whoever either gave the bike to the lad, sold the bike to the lad, or, didn't lock the bike up properly so the lad could pinch it.^_^
