Supposed to mee the gang for an MTB club ride at 10:00 but it's throwing it down, grey sky, thawing fast and what snow is left is deadly slippery.

Think I'll give it a miss.

Mr BP has gone on his first "proper" ride with his buddy following knee surgery a month ago. His 3rd and he thinks it's still not fixed. He's a runner at heart but cycles now as most runners do when they can no longer pound the pavements!

He hopes to do around 20 miles on a fairly level route. Unfortunately he doesn't know the meaning of "take it easy" and I am hoping that any good that the surgery did isn't undone - his consultant has given him the go-ahead so he isn't being totally reckless!

went out yesterday, glorious weather! Got a puncture though
Me too - to both. The puncture was 1.5/31 miles from home. Much dithering around in freezing slush before deciding, yes, it is worth changing the tube now.

Definitely out again today. Still 112/3650 miles to do before the end of the month.

Stuck at my mother in laws with my wife's awful sister so another day of hell until I can ride. Oh the joys of the Christmas season!

Windy:angry:

Was supposed to be on the club run this morning, but the flesh was weak and I didn't go, to many late nights. Wife and son are out all day tomorrow so I will get out tomorrow. I put a new front wheel on the fixed last Tuesday and I haven't put any miles on it yet.

Shame on you Dave - it's lovely here today! (I'm down visiting my family in Cov. for the Christmas holiday). I was due to ride my single-speed bike up to my mum's for lunch soon but it's sunny so I'll go and explore the lanes up Corley way first.

Do you suppose there is an eleventh commandment, "Thou shalt always get a puncture when it is freezing cold and thy fingers shall become like useless sausages and hurt like buggery when thou trapst them betwixt rim and tyre"?

Yes I know, it was dark cloudy and drizzling when I got up at seven, now its bright and sunny, enjoy the lanes round Corley, the club was going to Mappleborough Green and would have been round the lanes around Lowsenford and Earlswood.

Who's going out today?

Went out MTB yesterday. I think at this time of the year it's the best thing to do. If your going to get muddy and wet you may as well do it while having fun!
