Cubester and I braved the slush yesterday and had a couple of hours' MTB ride. Still a lot of snow remaining up here.
Lardyboy said:Did a circuit of Gower, which was very windy, but also quite enjoyable. Well I thought so. the other rider, Fairweather, was not so happy. I did say that two bottles of red and a couple of Guinness' were not ideal isotonic drinks!
Oh yes, nearly forgot. We were nearly taken out by a Vauxhall coming on the wrong side of the road. I just managed to swerve out of his path whilst yelling at him and Fairweather took to the verge and almost into the ditch to avoid him!The driver was quite shocked at what had happened, stopped and apologised profusely to us. I believe that was a first for us.

I thought that the roads in West Yorkshire were bad - strewth! I got 50 yards down the road and cycled into what I thought was a small puddle. It turned out to be a 6 inch deep pothole filled with water; my front wheel stopped dead but I didn't! I banged the stem with my knee and then almost castrated myself falling back onto the top tube - aargh!dave r said:Yes I know, it was dark cloudy and drizzling when I got up at seven, now its bright and sunny, enjoy the lanes round Corley, the club was going to Mappleborough Green and would have been round the lanes around Lowsenford and Earlswood.
