It's Easter Weekend....Sunday....and I am work between 3-9 which isn't my normal shift (I was helping out a colleague who really needed the day off to help with a very sick family member - and I'm compassionate like that!)....I haven't served a customer since 3:30....It's so quiet and my lower back is hellishly sore from a long day of walking yesterday and a missed session of physio exercises and yoga.

I...JUST...WANT...TO...GO...HOME

It is exhausted me, I rode this morning and it nearly drove me to tears  - I fought throught it and when I got back it didn't feel too bad - then when I had cooled down and was relaxing at home, I went to move and I just felt a band of pain across my lower back and I just felt like crying as this stupid issue doesn't seem to be going away despite physio and trying my best to look after my body between exercise..... I am hoping it will go away when I get back into my physio prescribed exercises. I have a duathlon this week and I really wish I could have relaxed and stayed at home today....

Ugh....I usually love my cycling, but today I couldn't wait to get home....and then that made me sad.

It must be stupid girl PMS hormones - please forgive my conscious ramblings.....

Ramble away, that's what we're here for.

If it's any consolation I'm working tomorrow, a job which involves calling on customers and the weather is going to be complete shyte according to the forecast. I don't fancy it one little bit, but it pays the rent

Because it's your job, and you're being paid to be there, and you agreed to swap a shift?

For what it's worth I used to love the Sunday evening quiet session at our local (council) gym before they closed the place down. It wasn't unheard of for me to virtually have the place to myself - Friday lates were another good time for me*. For some of your customers, who can't use the place when it is busy for whatever reason, those 'dead' sessions are a godsend and a lifesaver.

*I did have a longstanding agreement with the staff that once the baseball guys had left the sports hall, if there wasn't anyone else around in the bits of the leisure centre I couldn't see from 'my' weights bench meaning that I was the last person in, that they'd give me the nod and I'd bugger off.

I hate appearing to be a whiney girl lol!! - I am usually so motivated, keen, determined - but this issue just reminds how useless I still feel deep inside despite having this tough ass exterior.

I just wish I knew what to do...like I could transfer my pain to a medical professional (only for a little bit!!) so they could diagnose it and I could actually progress - I just feel like I am in a vicious circle that I want to exercise to get fitter and preferably lose weight, but the more I do the more injuries and aches and pains I get - I feel I really need to focus on restorative stuff and strengthening exercises to balance out the exercise.

Yeah, I agree - my physio said I need to stop doing 4/5 days in a row and spread it out more over the 7 days instead - maybe just doing 4 days of decent exercise per week (at the moment that's two canicross sessions and two bike rides per week) with balance/strengthening work added in as well as yoga. The balance work can be done before running as well as I have the equipment at home etc. It's just putting it all into practise.

I have a week planner with it all written down so I make sure I can fit stuff in around my full time work and do it that way. I am still almost tempted to have a whole week off of exercise and purely doing balance/strengthening with yoga and physio exercises.

Yeah I do have the YOLO attitude, I seem to survive well on little sleep still at nearly 30. I don't really party - the money I earn goes on my bills, rent to my parent's and paying off my two bikes (which is fine!! They are worth it)

I just get so frustrated with myself because I want to be better, but I can't seem to progress anywhere and no one can seem to give me definite answers about my back. I may just ask for a xray referral to the hospital and see if it brings anything up

@User21629 - because on my early shifts it's still dark - but more importantly.... there is nowhere safe to leave my bike

No you just need to rest, a week of doing nothing, not easy i know, but sometimes it is the answer,

Nope. Although my bike is infinitely beautiful.... they don't like us having our bikes in the centre - the bike cage isn't secure and I have seen a few bikes been prized off railings outside.

Both of my babies are insured, but I would not want the ass ache of having to claim etc.

I am at my parent's house. I have eaten so much food, i look like an Easter egg! The weather is beautiful - a perfect day to be out on my bike. My parents are in their 80s and don't move very much but my Mum is in her element feeding everyone. Frustrating thing is that weather forecast is rubbish for the rest of the week.
