It seems to be a common problem with people that like to push themselves. You soon find the weakest link in your body, Unfortunately, it is difficult for people who like to exercise to rest their bodies, but sometimes that is what is required.
A friend of mine does a lot of running, cycling and swimming. He is always getting injured (stress fractures and achilles strain normally), even though he knows he needs to rest, and is always telling me not to push too hard.

I think plus I am giving myself extra motivation by signing up for Monthly 100km Virtual Runner UK Races. I LOVE medals and it keeps me motivated to keep going. I always do more anyway because I would like to qualify for the 1000 miles Medal at the end of the year.

I like pushing myself because exercising and especially cycling is something I am actually good at. Through all the different things I do, I have met the most amazing people and it's just addictive!

You're planning on two months off, with your feet up then?

Definitely not! I did get the conversion right. At present to get 1000 miles per year. I have to do a minimum of 83.3 miles per month. The last two months I have easily broken that so I am well on target. Once I get my body fixed and warm weather I really want to boost my monthly activities.

It's not clear to me whether the back pain is making you feel down, or whether you feel down and it's making the back issues harder to bear. Sometimes we need to be clear on what the actual issue is before we can start to tackle it

Taking those rest days is important to help your body recover. You could ride every other day and inbetweenn do stretching, core exercises and yoga. Look on Youtube, there is plenty of suggestions. If you are cycling and putting strain on your body every day, you are not giving it a chance to heal.

Take it from an old been there done that: you need total time off. Take a FULL week off and give your wonky bits a bit of time to recover. A week off is nothing at your age and mentally it helps too.
