Why are plastic drinks bottle so expensive??

I'm on the lookout for a 750ml drinks bottle. I'd expect a plastic bottle to sell for £2 - £3 max but I can't seem even to find one at less than a fiver. Is there something I'm not seeing here??

You could buy a couple of race packs from a Wiggle or wherever, 750ml bottle included and a load of gels/sachets etc for £7. They're sometimes on offer for £5 as well.

Halfords sell the same bottle that is in the pack for £5.99 on its own!

Halfords quite often do a buy one get one free on the plain £4 bottle , so using fingers and the basic maths i learned at school that's £2 per bottle

But you do have to wait for the offer

We've got plastic water bottles coming out of our ears round here, son seems to get given them on a frequent basis, handy though for days out etc.
