I has a similar incident the other month. I was cycling up a hill when i passed a family of three. I smiled at the little girl because she had a bike and was wearing a helmet,when all of a sudden the mother belched loudly,called me a 2hat then did a sarcastic type laugh! The child just smiled, i looked at her as if to say good luck little girl,you're going to need it!

... and carbon-fibre bikes! Dontcha know, that's why in the warmer, finer months, there are heaps of cyclists on fancy CF roadies, riding like complete d'heads, as fast as they can along shared paths not designed for such speeds. It's all aimed at getting their bikes home quickly, before they melt.
