Why don't more men drive Minis?

Agree, just drive what you like. In this country cars hold such snob values, not so on the continent from what I've seen.
Wasn't really comparing my Subaru to a Mini, complete different beasts, I just need something smaller.

Get a Boxster then ;)

considering you work on cars for a living...the words "play with,"are a concern..you just lost a customer:okay:

If you have a Mini that is fine.

A car that has impressed me lately is the Tivoli, the mechanics I know are also impressed with the build quality. Great value when compared with many others in the price bracket.

they are not minis, they are a bmw
here is a proper mini, with a proper mini driver... paddy hopkirk

Back in the day I had a Mini van. Nothing BMW about that - it leaked, it rattled, it felt like driving around in a baked bean can. Boy was it fun! We called it the pubmobile - used to go down every night, generally two in the front, three or four in the back. Made it a tad sluggish. But it never let us down. Happy days.

Would it have been any more fun than say an Anglia van, it might have been more to do with the destination or the mates than the vehicle. I drove an old style mini last year and it was nothing like I remembered them to be in the seventies.

The last 2 offs I've had both involved very partially engaged male mini drivers. It's obviously too difficult to drive for men.

They caught my eye, but a bit new on the market and have had a few gearbox problems.

Weren't their big old Rexton 4X4's Mercedes based?

Strange you say that, first and reverse are very close together on the Mini, just like BMW's. When I went to pick the car up for the wife from the showroom I found myself going slowly backwards ^_^.. Of course Mrs S never does this.

Yep bits of it were. Not heard of the gearbox problems, certainly not at the dealers I work at anyway.
