That's backwards - mostly cyclists get cameras because dangerous drivers were already ruining the pleasure - and possibly irresponsible: why let bad drivers continue until they injure a cyclist? Let's get them off the road if we can.
Depends on your personal experiences of close passes. Mine aren't that common, I'd say maybe...maybe once a year when something happens that makes me boil, maybe even every couple years. With that in mind, im happy that 99.999 % of motorists are not a problem for me personally.
I'm not here to personally police the roads or anywhere else for that matter...its a position that would spoil my enjoyment of life...which can be difficult enough as it is :okay:

I've watched quite a few over the years and I agree with the OP that they do get tediously annoying after a while.

On a positive note, it also seems to me (subjective observation) that these videos are becoming less frequent and
less deliberate. I'm sure some would disagree with me but I do believe that drivers are becoming more aware of how
they should drive around cyclists. YMMV (considerably).

That's amazing. I get about 6 a week. Some worse than others where I've actually made contact with a vehicle. A couple of days ago a huge tractor with trailer overtook me on a pinch point. I had bits of hay on my sleeve.

I don't watch them as I find them all rather depressing. I've never felt the need to carry a video camera myself and it seems that the number of close passes that I experience is very few. I think on the whole that drivers are more considerate to cyclists now, certainly compared with when I was cycling in the 70s and 80s (last century I mean!), when I seemed to have deliberate close passes, stuff chucked at me and people shouting out of car windows on a regular basis.

6 a week? wow, really?
Move to London Squire.. I would be very unlucky and unfortunate to get 6 a month let alone a week.

I learned my lesson a couple of years ago with those and some tw*t in a BMW. Now I shoulder check, pull into primary then move back accross after and give the driver a quick thumb up.

I do exactly the same but in this case, I was daydreaming and he was flying. Pity they are not still in those slow proper little grey Massey Fergusons.
