Itching to get back on my bike's
Location
Northamptonshire
This is really my stepsons bike and for at least the last 7 years he mainly lives in Bangkok but he is due back this weekend so I need to get it mobile.

Built around a scruffy Columbus zonal alloy frame set and a set of kinesis forks so is mega light BUT it's one of a batch that they made with the rear brake bridge in the wrong place by about 25mm !!!

Now fitted a front rack, this bike is a great utility bike!

If you need it, that's great, but what do carry that way which panniers couldn't carry?

And... doesn't having weight up there really affect the bike handling?

I own a cycle shop so use it to collect bits and bobs. Mainly wheels would be strapped to the front rack. I want to use the bike more than the work van and thought this would be a great way to carry things.

Yes it does affect the handling but it’s fine

This is my Kiyo NJS track bike. The frame had some bad rust spots but I just painted over them and I’m pretty happy with the “beat up” look of it. I had a pair of old HED Jet 6 rims that I paired with DT Swiss 370 hubs and Sapim race spokes, really happy with the outcome. I’m running the Conti Aero 111s on both the front and rear even though you’re not really supposed to, I just got two of them quite cheap secondhand and the feel of them is super nice. The stem and handlebars are from Nitto, seatpost is Dura Ace/Easton NJS SP-7410, crankset is DA 7710 but with a 7600 chainring, I prefer the look of those, currently riding 46T since I have the bike in hilly Reykjavík but will probably switch to a 50T once I take the bike back to flat Copenhagen. The cog is EAI Superstar 18T and the chain is Izumi super toughness V. Saddle is Selle Italia Flite Trans Am, I have the standard Flite on many of my bikes but the cutout on this one is really nice. Pedals are MKS Supreme and they feel absolutely amazing. I have used other cheaper MKS pedals before, such as Sylvan, but these are on a whole other level. Pictured are nylon cages and the MKS alpha double straps but I’ve since then switched to Restrap horizontal straps, which I much prefer.
