Why won't my dishwasher clean porage off a wooden spoon?

^^As above ^^
It doesn't matter if I lay it flat, or stand it up in the cutlery basket, I always end up using a bristly brush to clean it properly..

It’s telling you you shouldn’t put wooden items into the dishwasher. ^_^

Porridge flour acts like a glue doesn't it, the action of hot water and detergent alone has little effect on some glue-like foodstuffs especially once they're starting to dry. Soak it in water for a while immediately, and scrub it off, it's the only way unfortunately.
See also egg yolk, that'll stay on your forks in the dishwasher.

Oh and cleaning out peanut butter jars for recycling is a massive pain in the 'arris too. Bloody oily nasty stuff that soap won't shift.

My butler hand washes my stuff before it goes in the dishwasher.
How is Fenton with his new position.

Arrrrggggggghhhh! Dont put wood in a dishwasher. Porridge is best stirred with a spurtle, which is round and doesnt allow the oats to stick to it. Have you so little time in your life you can't run it under the tap?
I might just get a spurtle. They look cool 😎

From what I've seen of dishwashers they inly properly wash relatively clean items. Burnt on curry pans etc won't be cleaned. However they also ruin any good items such as copper or iron pans, or decent knives
