I live in a pretty nice place called Thornton Cleveleys and if you know where they are ther are lots of good cycling roads all about. My question is: Why do cyclists, old/young, experienced/ not experienced, choose to cycle on the main trunk road which bisects the area (namely Ammounderness way) ? This is a horrible road to cycle on - too narrow and very exposed on an unprotected elevation - and clogged with traffic for large parts of the day. The irony is this was built as a by-pass and all the roads it took traffic away from are still there for cyclists, some are even dead - ends for cars. These old roads/ lanes/ cut -throughs will get you anywhere Ammounderness Way will, a lot more safely and probably quicker. Is it just folk don't know or am I missing something ? All answers gratefully received, Colin
