Not usually, unles you have an old road bike (5- or 10-speed). Most track bikes are 120mm @ the rear (some are 110) and modern road bikes have 130mm at the back. Slightly older road bikes (circa 1990 or so) have 126mm.
If the axle is long enough you can re-space a track wheel to 130mm but it is a bit technical to do...

pretty much as answered. DG, the term you want is "over lock nuts" (OLN), referring to the width of the rear wheel. The spacing of the rear dropouts should approximate that of OLN (ie within a mm or 2)
