I wouldn't x any messages to men ( I'm a woman)unless they are relatives or really close friends.
If a man "xses" me I would consider the fact he could fancy me.

The rule of thumb is that you should always use an S, if you start the letter add Dear Sir then it ends yours faithfully, if it starts Dear Joe Bloggs then it ends yours Sincerely.

Increasingly, it appears that in formal letter between organisations 'Regards' or 'Kind regards' is being used. I don't really like it...

Do it the French way and just write: "Bisous" instead of an"x". It is much more personal.
