I have nearly lost my wedding ring three times!!!

Please read THIS

My wife now understands why I take my rings off and leave them at home before going away for the weekend!!!
I take mine off if I go on a long bike ride otherwise I find it a bit uncomfortable as it rubs. I always make a point of telling someone where I am putting it!

Strangely, going for a ride is one time when I make sure I put my wedding ring on. Cycling is an activity I expect to be "allowed" to do without involving my wife at all, for which I'm grateful. It somehow seems appropriate and polite.

There's also the fact that until I rediscovered my cycling legs 2 and a bit years ago, I couldn't put it on at all. I had been thinking I would get it expanded for my silver wedding anniversary, but in the event I didn't need to.

Try every avenue to find the lost ring. Do you have a Facebook "lost and found" page for your area? Can you find contact details for local metal detecting groups?

I don’t trust people who take off their rings.

Yeah sure there are reasonable professional excuses, but. Tape over it if I had to but I have never (okay maybe twice) taken off my ring in fourteen years.

I probably should, every time I go lake swimming I get nervous, but it’s not right to remove your ring. The whole point is it’s permanence.

My wife has nearly lost her finger during pregnancy rather than remove her ring. I think that was taking it too far.

I have quite large hands and large knuckles too. Not that they look out of proportion or weirdly lumpy but thems the facts. Anyway, a ring that is large enough to go over my knuckle is too large for the fleshier bit where the ring traditionally sits and can and has fallen off and one that is small enough to sit comfortably on the fleshy bit has to be removed over my knuckle with a combination of lard and cotton. So I don't wear my wedding ring anymore, I'll try not to lose any sleep over you not trusting me. BTW, do you and your wife leave your rings on when you're preparing food? Remind me not to eat at your house!

Never lost my ring but that may be because I've never had a wedding ring. Strangely Mrs 26 has never lost hers. She's darn good at loosing lots of other stuff tho'. Still missing - the shed key. But that's on a ring.....

It's only a ring. I'd be very upset if I lost it but taking it off doesn't mean I suddenly can't remember who my husband is
