It is. But it says it failed. Twice..

Go to

C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download

delete EVERYTHING inside that folder

Press windows key, type cmd right click on Command Prompt and "Run as administrator"

Next, press windows key and type "Windows Update" open the Windows Update

Go back to the command prompt and type

wuauclt.exe /updatenow

It should start downloading your files again

This will also work if the update isn't yet available for you

MS appear to have decided that my keypad preferences are wrong and reset them to the default settings each time I reboot. (I just want the two finger scrolling and pinch zoom, not the 3 finger stuff or tapping.) Has this happened to anybody else in W10?

Think so. I seem to have lost the ability to scroll with the bit at the side of my trackpad too. Maybe a driver update from the actual keypad manufacturer will solve it.
Have you tried playing Solitaire yet?
No. Solitare is wasted on a quad core with 8gb ram and an SSD... i have browsed the web and checked my emails though.

Now I've figured out I don't have to wait for it, I can just go and download it, the PC is on it's way.

I have been running a beta version as a virtual machine since Jan so I'm looking forward to seeing what's been improved.

EDIT: It seemed rude not to tell you how to skip the wait http://www.cnet.com/how-to/jump-the-line-and-get-windows-10-right-now/

Used this to update my little Bush tablet, and it's working fine. I'll probably use it when I sort Ma and Pa's laptops later.
