Windscreen question

I crashed a bobcat digger once and the rear window popped out and hit me on the back of the head. I know that's a bit OT but it did involve vehicular glass.

Travelling home from school on board a late 1960s Leyland Leopard coach, the driver hit a pothole and the large pane of glass behind the driver's seat shattered and the driver ended up all cut from the shards of glass which went down his shirt collar.

Left sitting around water from the air will dissolve in it. That can leave a messy wipe behind.

possible but its not a 20 yr old bottle. i know i like alcohol but 20yr old meths is taking the spirit snob a bit far .....

As suggested, isopropyl alcohol is pretty good for getting the glass clean. I didn't bother a while back. My parking permit holder fell off the windscreen while I was away on holiday. An eagle-eyed parking warden stuck me with six penalty notices on consecutive days while I was away. I wrote to the council explaining the situation and they kindly waived the fines. A week later I got a demand for non-payment of a fine. Somebody had removed the seventh parking ticket from under my wiper blade. They waived that one too. It was amazing how well the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Parking Control responded to a polite request for consideration.

Serves him right. If he'd been wearing a tie and his chauffers hat he'd have been safe from harm.

It often comes from the manufacturer with some dissolved water present.
