First of all be careful what you search for. Facebook has identified that I've been looking at tights, but has misunderstood slightly and keeps sending me photos of women's legs. Unfortunately the tights they are wearing look far too thin for winter.

I got a jumble bag of secondhand cycling gear, which contained a couple of Nalini jerseys that I wear a lot. So last year when looking for tights I bought a pair of theirs from Wiggle. I've been really impressed. They are warm - I did an Audax in March at minus 7 and the pad is as good as any of my more expensive shorts.

Okay all, an update. In the end went for a pair of Castelli Polare 2 Bib Tights ( https://www.castelli-cycling.com/gb/polare-2-bibtight/p/451352319A), not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but they ticked all the boxes and I'm a tend to buy it once, buy it right and hang onto it type bloke.

After three and bit months of use, including some very cold rides (well cold for the UK) I'm really pleased with them, warm, dry, windproof and breath very well. All in, does what is says on the tin.
