Winter in Canada! - (Image Heavy)

Hi all,

Thought I'd share with you my recent images from this Canadian winter. (May contain lots of images of snow and my snowshoeing expeditions).

Had I not had snowshoes on, I'd have sunk down to my waist!

What kind of temperatures do you get?

I would much prefer to have proper cold winters like that with lovely blue skies rather than the grey, wet and windy crap we have to put up with here!

(Ok, we did have lovely blue skies here today but I stayed indoors in the warm - * cough* )

Very mean, posting those pics. We're just on the point of emerging from our second consecutive totally snowless winter, and it sucks.

I used to visit Montreal regularly on a ship. Ice-breaking up the St. Lawrence to get there,even had the pilot walk out to the ship across the ice once.
Proper winters, even though it's as far south as Barcelona.

What kind of temperatures do you get?

Once winter sets in, it'll usually hover around -10 for a few weeks, January and February are our cold-snaps. Gets down to -30 sometimes, then. Warming back up tail-end of February to mid-March.

For example, last year, we had Spring - it was a Thursday.

Often times I moan and complain about living in No Funswick. But when I get out with my snowshoes, just me and the snow and nature, it is absolutely amazing.

Yep! Went to bed last Thursday night, it was -35C.
