So that was a severe change of weather. Seems like the time has come to start doing the "Winter Miles" thing in my head as we all start peddling through the wind and rain.

So to you all out there if it all seems a bit too much "winter miles, summer smiles". I cant take credit for that, a bright spark on here introduced that saying to me, but its worth every revolution of those peddles. or even pedals ... (Mod Edit)

Enjoy it all everyone.

No peddling through the wind and the rain for me. May be just a bit of wind but definitively no rain. I choose my cycling outings very carefully in winter and stick to " no rain days".

I rode through the entirety of last winter in London but it was pretty mild last year, and London never gets that cold anyway. I should be alright this year too unless there's ice on the road; that's about the only time I won't ride. I'm hoping I'll be able to put off forking out for winter boots until next year though, it can't be that much colder in the countryside...

I rode all weathers for years, these days I have a car, if its raining when I get up I reach for the car keys.

Typical! I missed cycling in the best summer we've had up here for years....and now I've just started commuting by bike again....it's wet, cold, windy.....I love it!

Short of ice/snow I'm going to do my best to keep going on the bike, despite some serious resistance from my significant other and parents! If I can deal with it up to Feb, I'm going to be car free most of next year

Rode through last winter however it was very mild, I bought base layers and stuff and never needed them. I plan to ride this winter too, only severe snow/ice will stop me. I would wager it will still be faster than public transport and short of buying a second car will be my only choice. I actually enjoy the crisp mornings once I've warmed up and helps with fitness for the summer months.

All year round commuter. Use an off road route when it's icy or snow. Having to take it easy in parts on my new commute route as the cycle route (old railway) is covered in very wet leaves. 23mm slick tyres need respect on these.
