However a small shove in the back might....... I once stood at the top of the Olympic ski jump in Oslo, and no amount of money could convince me to ever jump off it.

C'mon Elise, short track speed skating very soon...
Phew! Crap line for the final though.
I only quote this because I haven't heard anyone be called 'Thingy' since I was about 5.... and the inevitability of thingy Christie crashing and being disqualified, inevitable.
It was either thingy or doodah.I only quote this because I haven't heard anyone be called 'Thingy' since I was about 5.
I'm off to the rink this evening so I might take my skates and attempt a Christie-style tribute crash. Mind you, Basingstoke ice is more akin to Mogul skiing.
Thingy is better. It was either thingy or doodah.
Tis certainly very different from all the high-octane sports. I like seeing and hearing the strategy develop as each 'end' progresses.Gotta love the Curling, slinging a daud of stone along a wad of ice whats not to like.
I love watching the ski-jump. I was always fascinated by it as a kid, but clearly to Eddie the Eagle levelsI notice that there were only about 12 people watching the mens' ski jump.
Gotta love the Curling, slinging a daud of stone along a wad of ice whats not to like. Not sure why we brits dont have a mixed team though
Bunch of us in work where just discussing getting a curling evening somewhereTeam GB just missed out on qualifying. They were the ninth-ranked team by a single point.
Curling is the one I really want to try other than x-country skiing. I'll probably be ghastly at it, but I admire the skill - it's a cross between bowls and billiards, but with the certainties of friction taken away.
