wire bead or folding? whats the diff????

i dont know the difference between wire bead and folding? my secteur came with wire bead, can i put folding on my rims?
any help will be great

You can use either - the main difference is weight. I have both and can't tell the difference. Folding tyres are easier to post/carry off the bike as well!

you certainly can pal,i've put some folding conti 4 seasons on mine.
Think they are just lighter and easier to package/store.

Funny I was about to ask a similar question:thumbsup:

Following the advice from all you good chaps on the thread I started I was about to purchase a set of Conti 4 seasons when I noticed the folding bit and thought I'd better check this out first.

Now I know:biggrin:

I've found the problem with folding tyres is that they aren't "tyre shaped" and tend to flop and spring about all over the place when fitting them whereas wires are already wheel shaped and drop on to the rim easier.
I use both though. :rofl:
