And the bicycle, unlike the car (anymore) can be worked on and fettled quite well by its owner. Soon enough, you'll be browsing Gumtree for bicycles to fix up.
ok so after yesterdays 19 miles or so, today i set off for work, no issues, worked the day and set off home. Took me just over 20 mins to get home, not blisteringly fast - Barham court to Ringlestone Maidstone, but when I first did the same journey about a month ago, it took me well over 50 minutes (several stops) .
I feel great after it, and wish to hell I hd started this cycling malarkey years ago.lol
That's happened to me after getting back in the saddle! Deciding between Whyte Carnaby or Giant Liv thrive 2,hard....Craig, I would say that you are like most people i.e. you start cycling for a reason but you quickly come to find that you keep cycling for a different reason to the one which got you cycling in the first place i.e. you love it for the simple joy of being out and about on your bikeand all the other benefits that come with it .
Now having said what I have, I agree with the other comments, that come what may you will eventually hanker for a better bike / components and the lure of these things will eventually beat you and you will find a way to get them![]()
That option seems to solve two problems. Thanks for the idea.Sell my wife

Not having to maintain it: £200 (give or take)
No city car parking £1008

I am still saving as the bike is going into its second year now and I don't have VED/Insurance/Fuel/Parking again.
I started off with a basic bike too.
Enjoy your cycling![]()
