Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
I've a Valiant fan on my little wood burner. It seems to circulate the heat a bit more and sounds just like a fan, a quiet swoosh. Depends if you like that sound, I guess.

The fan is not powerful enough to do any damage, but if they are that close to a woodburner the fan is the least of your worries.
Mine would probably bruise you nicely but it's not really fixed down, so it'd lift the fan up a bit, as well as knock your fingers away. I've hit my hand by mistake, but before the fan was at full speed: it was mildly annoying.

They are silent. They don't spin that fast. They just help push the warm air into the room.
