Sports commentators are the worst culprits for interchanging "literally" and "metaphorically".

He might be having the game of his life but if he is "literally on fire" then its time to bring the substitute on.

"Water Cannon" apparently has no plural for some reason... and that bugs me.

"The Police used Water-Cannon to suppress the crowd" surely it's Water Cannons or a Water Cannon

If you're American, the plural is either "cannon" or "cannons". If you're British, the plural is "cannon".

That may be grammatically correct, but I still dislike it! ;) The American's may be (half) right on this one IMO.


I love sheeps, but we don't get many in Norfolk; it would be nice to see more fields full of new born lamb.
 
I don't know why, but the phrase "when i watched it back" as used by Simon Cowell and those types when referring to an earlier performance by a contestant.
