Ok I have an ascent of 133 metres over 1.99kms. Cant anyone tell me if its possible to work out the average gradient from that?

Yes, it is possible.
That's 133/1990 = 0.0668 or 6.7% gradient.
If you take 1/0.668 it's a 1:15 hill, if you prefer it that way.
