I want to like Outcasts - I do like some of the ideas in it, but it's a curious mix of trying to do too much thematically, and tedious baggy feeling episodes. Shame, as I like sci-fi, and there's not enough of it on the telly.

No one going for "Tramadol Nights"?

Weren't the council trying to do that at some point???

Indeed, and the twats won. Seemingly they are all so deprived of their fun since those evil people banned it in the Lakes, that they NEED somewhere just to fanny about

I cannot stand Eastenders which seems to be on all the time and whenever I get a five second blast of it as I change channels there just seems to be two horrid people arguing all the time.

I sometimes watch it as you get a smug feeling of

'Well, at least I'm not as bad as THEM!'

Also, yes, the characters can be horrible, but more often than not, they are just immensely thick.

As a kid there was only one TV and only one warm room so if the family had something on you were stuck watching it. Upstairs Downstairs pops in my mind, probably as it seemed to go on with nothing happening for hours.

Monarch Of The Glen - who in their right mind thought that that was actually funny?? It was lamer than the corpe of Red Rum!

Got to disagree with you there MDB as Monarch had Dawn Steele in it which IMHO redeemed it.

I remembered another one I'd rather not waste time over; Lost. Its title should have continued... open brackets The Plot close brackets.

Virtually anything produced since about - oh, let's say 1980 - that should about cover it. ;).

But - even some of the oldies. Just about any programme with Eamonn Andrews in it. Who remembers (without their stomach churning) What's My Line? This is Your Life? And, for us young'uns, Crackerjack? Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!

Keep Calm and OMG.......CAKES!!
Does anyone remember Land of the Giants and those programs like it ? I wasn't around for the originals but I remember them being on sunday lunchtimes in the 80's. Altho I really did quite liked Lost in Space

For some strange reason i enjoyed the repeats last year of Howards Way beacuse of all the long gone 80's cars on the show .I only liked Eldorado because it had a Renault A610 on it.
Butterflies was ace because we used to compare the food cooked for the family to what my Mum used to do for us !

As for stuff i cannot stand,it has to be anything game show,Big brother,X-factor/Britains got no talent, celeb get me out of here..that kind of kack !

I remember the Sullivans and Triangle and would need to see a repeat to see if they were that bad.

What about Take the high road ?? still not sure that was about !

From the 70s I remember a particularly patronising comedy called Mixed Blessings about a supposedly hip couple, she black, he white, on ITV. truly cringeworthy.

Do you remember Love Thy Neighbour? What a weird thing that was - but it was extremely successful and it went on for years.

Er yes unfortunately, I can't even bring myself to type some of the things the black guy got called. I didn't mention it because the whole driver of Mixed Blessings was that it was supposed to be 'right on' about mixed race relationships but just came across as patronising and deeply embarrassing.
