Due to ill health I've not been abroad in over a year. I'd really like to hop over the Lanzarote. 2 things putting me off.

1.Jet Fuel shortages - a lot of reports these will start to have in impact soon

2.This new entry system - where from what I can gather finger prints are actually collected and authorised and the airports with resulting queues.

My wife has MS which means standing for any length of time isn't an option. When we book we usually get assistance at the outgoing airport - but not so sure about the overseas airports.

Thoughts ???

How about Gibraltar? It's a British Overseas Territory so there are no immigration checks. You can even cross into Spain without biometric checks.

My daughter and I are off to Amsterdam for a week in May. We are desperately hoping Europe does not run out of jet fuel by then, or that the strait of Hormuz is open again to tanker traffic. We are concerned about it on the one hand but also, what happens, happens.
I'm more bothered about the EES system and the reported huge queues at airports.

I have holidays booked. I am looking forward to going. As things stand I will. If things continue as they are then flights will be cancelled.
Would I book today? No.

I won't say any more or the thread will be blocked but you can guess my feelings.

I will avoid air travel in the EU until after the summer school holiday, which is probably when the chaos is resolve. Either Because the issues are ironed out or the staff have worked out how the new system works.

We are off to Canada with BA who, I am informed, have plentiful supplies bought at an incredible price and Canada produces huge amounts of their own jet fuel.

We'd read a new story on the delays in Milan resulting in 100 people missing their flight, we were in Malaga at the time so were a little worried.
Got to the airport and it was an absolute breeze, no queues whatsoever for the EES.

If you bought as a package, yes. Otherwise, would depend on what insurance you
We also bought a package but the supplier had to be nudged several times for us to get our money back (many thousands). It was only when I insisted we can’t travel because of the FCDO advice telling us not to did they respond.

Gone abroad..Anglesey. Might as well be as Newbourough Forest is stunning. Never managed to visit as we usually go further North and by the time we pass, the road get's shut off as no parking. Camping this weekend. Even got the bus to do 45 mpg on the way down. Not bad for a big brick.
