Stupid question, but wouldn't you have the same beard issues with a balaclava as with the buff?

The cold seems to have eased off but the wind near as makes any difference took my face off this morning, and it looks like its going to get worse over the coming days. Thing is, I'm slightly worried I might be put under citizens arrest for looking a bit, well, mug-y. I managed to get one of the Aldi cycling balaclavas for a pittance but I'm terrified to use it!

Never seen a cyclist wearing one before, a case of manning up?

I have a windstopper balaclava that is my essential piece of kit in sub zero temperatures, I would not be without it. It is too warm for much above zero tho so then it is a buff and a hat.

You've relegated Liverpool to the South of England if you need a balaclava because of a bit of cold!

When its really really cold, like - 5 or lower i would have a buff around the neck over my chin and another one on my head .
