A foolish true tale ....
As a younger, much younger cyclist, I used to go to the local Kirby cycle track, to watch the racing. I noticed that when a rider had punctured, they put on another tubular and used tape round the tyre and rim to secure it and continued racing.
Thought, what a good idea and the next day, secured my tubs with tape as well.
Lasted for about 20 yards, when I quickly realised that it wasn't compatible with rim brakes!
