My brother-in-law's father was a Sicilian mafia Don - does that count?
So your father was a lord?
Not getting that one, my wife's late brother was my brother-in-law. He was married to a girl with Irish parents, my parents are not Irish though.

I work for an American company, my boss recruited me partly because he wanted a Brit in the role. Talking to him, I think he's convinced himself that I'm a lord, or else a spy, or something like that anyway. They love that sh*t, I can thank Hollywood and Alan Rickman for that I guess.
When I worked in the States I found most Americans very well disposed towards the English, and slightly in awe. They seem to think all English are slightly scheming and villainous, and in the line of work I was in I was happy to let people think I was a bit 'do not cross'.

Yes, I'm getting that too, and I think we've followed quite similar lines of work in our careers.

I was a bodyguard/driver. Took a 6 month career break following my divorce and went to stay with my Aunt in Pennsylvania. Used to escort midwives in and out of some of the deprived ghetto areas of Philly that made Moss Side look like Knightsbridge.

Any royalty, nobility or titled folk on here? I'm thinking of becoming a Lord or some such for a laugh.
No. And I would have all such titles banned. There would be no Dr. Prof. Mr. Mrs. Ms. Master, Lord. Lady, Baroness, Sir... That way nobody would be able to lord themselves over anybody else. Also, I would make it law that all the s's were banned, such as actress, waitress, etc. Its stupid.
